Anton has spent the last decade working on Columbia Basin salmon restoration for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Prior to this, Anton’s work focused on natural resource issues in government, academia, and the non-profit sector. This included research with the U.S. Forest Service in eastern Oregon and policy work in Washington, D.C. for Senator Gordon H. Smith. While in the non-profit sector, Anton helped develop California’s cap-and-trade program and worked on New Zealand’s forest carbon market with the Climate Change Research Institute at the Victoria University of Wellington. Anton was raised on the edge of the Klamath Basin in rural southeastern Oregon.
